Lena Laughter

Lena has over 30 years experience in the medical field. Her career has presented her the opportunity to work in various roles in healthcare, providing her with a comprehensive perspective and approach to practice management.

She paused her career in healthcare to dedicate her time to raising her son and daughter in their younger years. As they reached school age, she resumed her passion for healthcare in the family practice setting. After working with Dr. Gardner for two years, she joined him in the opening of Apple Valley Family Medicine, and is honored to now be a part of providing quality patient care with PrimeHealth Asheville.

Lena enjoys spending time with her husband of 40 years and their family - especially her three young granddaughters. A native of Western North Carolina, she takes advantage of the recreational activities this area offers including hiking, mountain biking, fly-fishing and participating in wildlife management. When she’s not exploring the outdoors, she enjoys traveling, quilting, reading and event planning.
